Heavenly Valley ski trip

The clouds broke briefly today at Heavenly Valley. Professional photographer Barbara Williams saw me shooting at this spot and offered to shoot this frame of me amid snow frosted trees with Lake Tahoe in the distance below, using my Nikon P6000 pocket camera... perfect for skiing snap shots. It's been a memorable trip and images like this will keep them secure. I'm glad I didn't need to haul my Nikon D3 for it.

Heavenly Valley skiing

The skiing phase of my vacation is mid-way now with two days done and two more to go. It's been snowing a lot, but the sun broke today for the second shot, of me made by a kindly bystander. I'm totally stoked by the beauty of the frosted trees and sweeping views... and, oh yea, the skiing! God is great! Thank you God!

My sister and her cat Molly helped her husband Barry entertain several close friends tonight in my honor. I'm getting entertainment saturation this week with Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Love (by Cirque Du Soleil), Blue Man Group and more. If it stops snowing in time, I'll be skiing next week!
